University of Washington, Puget Sound Regional Synthesis Model (PRISM)
Summer 2004 to Summer 2006
RESEARCH ASSISTANT.
- Gathered and organizing PRISM data collected from 1997 to present and created Matlab m files to identify outliers and apply calibrations to data collected. Originated idea to create a innovative GUI which allowed more rapid examination of data from all PRISM data collection cruises. Professors/PSMEM members lauded creativity in developing this new approach.
- Designed and automated metadata creation for PRISM Cruise data
- Created another GUI for educational purposes from a box model of the Puget Sound. Students are able to change river, salinity forcing, along will initial settings to run the model in and effort to help them understand the circulation and mixing within the Puget Sound.
- Created a cruise ship effluent tracer python program from a particle tracing program and a circulation model.  This helps find potentially dangerous locations for shellfish harvesting due to Noravirous (also known as the Norwalk virous).
- Taught Matlab to professor’s students.
- Also charged with responsibility for minutes at PSMEM meetings.

Summer 2004 to Spring 2005
STUDENT ASSISTANT.
- Independently tested calibrations of new pitch/roll and compass equipment on Seagliders. Plotting data from completed missions to enable analysis by department. Using Matlab to generate plots of data, identify trends and deliver quality analysis to department.
- During the summer volunteered to work any necessary shifts to deploy gliders on schedule.

COMPUTER TECH/DATA ENTRY.
- Setup new computerized rental system improving inventory control and enhancing ability to bill customers accurately.
- Compiled and analyzed rental systems data in Excel providing improved analysis of business/customer trends.
- Answered phone, worked directly with clients to solve their problems, helped clients fill large orders, and communicated with delivery personnel and clients. Regularly demonstrated strong service focus, dealt with customer issues directly to ensure satisfaction and demonstrated good communications skills.
- Originated idea for the creation and updates to the company WEB system, and created MS-Access database to track their costume rentals business.
